Charges Laid

(WEST PERTH, ON) - The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police have charged two individuals following the theft of an e-bike in the Municipality of West Perth.

On August 2, 2025 the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) launched an investigation into the theft of an e-bike from Keterson Park in the Town of Mitchell.

Michael JAMES, 40-years-old of Stratford, and Peter GEVAERT, 61-years-old of Perth East have been charged with the following offence:

• Theft Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

GEVAERT was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on October 20, 2025. JAMES remains in custody on unrelated charges.
