Human Remains Identified, OPP Remains on Scene
(SMITHS FALLS, ON) - Human remains located on a property in Montague Township have been identified as a missing Smiths Falls resident.
On Thursday, October 30, 2025, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers executing a search warrant at a residence on Kelly Jordan Road located human remains on the property.
The postmortem examination confirmed that the remains are those of Robbie THOMSON, who was reported missing in October 2023.
On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, three people were arrested and charged with first degree murder in connection with the disappearance and death of Robbie THOMSON. The accused individuals remain in custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
The Lanark County OPP, in collaboration with the Smiths Falls Police Service, continues to investigate under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by the OPP Forensic Identification Services.
Residents of Kelly Jordan Road, northeast of Smiths Falls, will continue to see an increased police presence as part of this ongoing investigation. Police do not believe there is risk to public safety.
