-UPDATE #2- OPP INVESTIGATING DEATH IN GREENSTONE

Residents Asked to Check Video Surveillance Systems

(GREENSTONE, ON) - Public assistance and video footage are being sought in relation to an ongoing death investigation in the Municipality of Greenstone.

On Thursday, May 15, 2025, at approximately 12:45 am, officers from the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a medical emergency in Geraldton in the Municipality of Greenstone. One individual was transported to the hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.

Residents in Geraldton are asked to check their video surveillance systems for any suspicious persons or activity between Wednesday, May 14 and Thursday, May 15, 2025. Investigators are also looking for an outstanding folding knife. If located, please do not touch. If you are in possession or have located this item, please call the police immediately.  

The OPP North West Region Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
