Reopened Between Turenne Road and Boisvenue Road
(FRENCH RIVER, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has reopened Highway 64 between Turenne Road and Boisvenue Road in French River, following a fatal collision that occurred earlier today. The temporary detour has been removed, and all traffic can resume use of Highway 64 through this area.
On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at approximately 1:45 pm, officers from the Sudbury Detachment of the OPP responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. As a result of the incident, the 75-year-old pedestrian from French River is deceased, and the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported by ORNGE to a regional trauma centre.
The investigation included the assistance of the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist.
