Second Person Arrested, Additional Charge Laid

(KENORA, ON) - A second person was arrested and an additional charge was laid as part of an ongoing investigation into the disappearance and death of a Kenora resident.

On Sunday, October 26, 2025, Mekhi PELLY (SCOTT), age 21 of Grassy Narrows First Nation, was reported missing to the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). The victim has since been confirmed deceased.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Terrance CHERRY, age 24 of Kenora, has been additionally charged with first degree murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

In addition, Una CHERRY, age 43 of Kenora, was charged with accessory after the fact to murder, contrary to section 240 of the CC.

The investigation is being conducted by the Kenora OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch. Efforts to locate the victim’s remains are ongoing with assistance of the OPP’s Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team and Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, in collaboration with Grassy Narrows First Nation and Washagamis Bay First Nation.
