Individual Arrested

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) - On July 13, 2025, members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person as a result of an assault investigation.

On July 9, 2025, at around 3:20 pm police responded to a report from Emergency Medical Services regarding an assault which had taken place at a multiple occupancy residence on Front Street South.

As a result, the victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by EMS. The suspect is known to the victim and was not present upon the arrival of emergency services.

The scene was held for OPP Forensic Identification Services (IDENT) to attend and assist with the investigation.

A 23-year-old female, of no fixed address, has been charged with:

• Assault with a weapon
• Assault causing bodily harm
• Theft under $5,000

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg. They shall not be named to protect the identity of the victim.
