VEHICLE FIRE ON HIGHWAY 402 SLOWS TRAFFIC
Highway Closes Briefly as a Result
(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) - Transport truck fire slows traffic and briefly closes Highway 402 in Adelaide Metcalfe.
On December 22, 2025, at 12:34 pm, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Adelaide Metcalfe Fire Department were dispatched to Highway 402 eastbound, east of Kerwood Road in the Township of Adelaide Metcalfe, for the report of a vehicle on fire.
The driver of the truck safely steered off the roadway onto the shoulder at which time the vehicle began to smoke and eventually caught fire.
Traffic was slow in the area and the Highway was briefly closed at Kerwood Road as emergency crews were on scene. The vehicle has since been removed from the highway.
There were no injuries reported.
