VEHICLE IMPOUNDED FOR STUNT DRIVING ALONG 11-17 HIGHWAY


(THUNDER BAY, ON) - On June 3rd, 2025, at approximately 10:38 pm, a member of the Thunder Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment was conducting radar enforcement along 11-17 Highway, within the Municipality of Shuniah.

The officer observed a motor vehicle driving 150km/hr in a posted 90km/hr & a traffic stop was initiated. As a result of the investigation, the driver’s licence has been suspended for 30-days & the vehicle impounded for 14-days.

A 35-year-old, of Winnipeg, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform stunt - Excessive speed

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on June 30th, 2025.
