(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - one individual has been charged following an incident in Fergus.

On November 3, 2025, at approximately 1:45 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of mischief at a residence on Belysde Avenue in Fergus. 

As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old from Fergus is charged under the Criminal Code with:

• Mischief - destroys or damages property
• Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
• Failure to comply with Undertaking

As the accused was being taken into custody, they became combative with police and were additionally charged with:

• Assault a Peace Officer
• Mischief Under $5,000

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The accused’s name is being withheld, out of concern for their well being.
