(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) - Over the Thanksgiving Long Weekend, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) caught eight motorists stunt driving.

In Ontario, drivers can be charged with stunt driving for excessive speeding:

  • Driving 40 km/h or more ocer the speed limit where the limit is less than 80 km/hr
  • Driving 50 km/h or more over the speed limit where the limit is 80 km/h or higher
  • Driving 150 km/h or more anywhere in the province

Members of the Wellington County OPP demonstrated unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety of our roads over the long weekend. As a result of their proactive enforcement efforts, the following individuals have been charged:

On October 10, 2025, at approximately 1:30 pm, a 20-year-old from Erin was found to be travelling 60+ km/h over the posted speed limit and was charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
  • Driver fail to surrender licence
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

On October 10, 2025, at approximately 11:00 pm, a 20-year-old from Ancaster was found to be travelling 50+ km/h over the posted speed limit and was charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
  • Careless driving
  • Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit

On October 11, 2025, at approximately 5:45 pm, a 23-year-old from Waterloo was found to be travelling 60+ km/h over the posted speed limit and was charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
  • Speeding 50+km/h over posted limit

On October 11, 2025, at approximately 11:45 pm, a 34-year-old from Erin was found to be travelling 40+ km/h over the posted speed limit and was charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
  • Speeding 1-49 Km/h over posted limit
  • Obstruct plate

On October 12, 2025, at approximately 3:30 am, a 46-year-old from Guelph, was found to be travelling 50+ km/h over the posted speed limit and was charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
  • Speeding - community safety zone
  • Fail to have insurance card

On October 13, 2025, at approximately 6:15 am, a 36-year-old from Bolton was found to be travelling 60+ km/h over the posted speed limit and was charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed

On October 13, 2025, at approximately 7:30 am, a 30-year-old from Oshawa was found to be travelling 60+ km/h over the posted speed limit and was charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed

Lastly, on October 13, 2025, at approximately 8:15 am, an 18-year-old from Niagara Falls was found to be travelling 50+ km/h over the posted speed limit and was charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed

Anyone charged with ‘drive motor vehicle - perform stunt’ receives a 14-day vehicle impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.
