(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - A youth has been charged in connection with a weapons-related incident in Delhi.

On Monday, September 15, 2025, at approximately 1:40 pm, Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a weapons-related incident on Imperial Street in Delhi.

The investigation determined that an interaction took place between two groups of youths, during which one individual brandished what appeared to be a firearm and physically assaulted another on the premises. No injuries were reported.

As a result, a 16-year-old resident of Carrying Place, Ontario, was arrested and charged with the following alleged offences:

• Pointing a firearm, - Assault with a weapon, - Obstruct Peace Officer, - Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court (two counts)

The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
