YOUTH CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING FOLLOWING COLLISION INVESTIGATION


(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - A youth has been charged in connection with an impaired driving-related collision in Vanessa.

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, at approximately 8:19 am, the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with the Norfolk County Fire Department and Oxford County Paramedic Services, responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Windham Road 3 in Vanessa.

The investigation determined that the SUV was travelling on Windham Road 3 when it left the roadway and entered a ditch, resulting in minor injuries to the driver.

Officers located the driver at the scene and, following a roadside sobriety test, took the individual into custody without incident.

As a result, a 16-year-old Elgin County resident was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), - Young driver - B.A.C. above zero

The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
