On February 21, 2025, Detectives from the Greater Sudbury Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation into individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in Greater Sudbury.

As a result of the investigation, our Emergency Response Unit (ERU) executed a search warrant on Pearl Street in Greater Sudbury. During the execution of the search warrant, three individuals from Greater Sudbury were arrested, however two of the individuals were released unconditionally at the scene.

Detectives conducted a search of the residence and located approximately 87 grams of Fentanyl, 29 grams of Crack Cocaine, two sets of brass knuckles, a replica handgun and $340 in cash. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $11,500.

As a result of the search, 39-year-old, Adam Timonen was charged with the following offences under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon x 2
  • Carry Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order x3
  • Breach of Probation x3

Adam Timonen attended Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on February 22, 2025, to answer to the charges.
