drugs seizedOn February 25, 2025, Detectives from the Integrated Crime Section with the assistance of Patrol Operations and the Community Response Unit conducted a traffic stop on Lorne Street in relation to individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in Greater Sudbury.

As officers approached the vehicle, they could see the occupants throwing items into the back seat. While speaking with the occupants, officers saw a jar containing what were believed to be illicit drugs in plain view.

As a result of the stop, the driver and passenger were taken into custody. Incident to arrest, detectives conducted a search of the occupants and vehicle.

Detectives located approximately 252 grams of Fentanyl, 44 grams of cocaine, a canister of pepper spray, a scale, packaging materials, $3,717 CAD and $40 USD. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $30,000.

33-year-old, Krista Schofield and 30-year-old, Connor Scott have been charged with the following offences under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x2
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Breach of Probation x2 (Connor Scott)

They will attend bail court today, February 26, 2025, to answer to the charges.
