drugs and cash seized On June 18, 2024, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) were conducting a drug investigation on a suspected drug trafficker. While conducting the investigation, Detectives witnessed the individual driving a vehicle despite being a prohibited driver due to a previous impaired driving conviction.  

Detectives with the assistance of Patrol Operations conducted a traffic stop on Elm Street where the individual was taken into custody.

Upon searching the individual and the vehicle, officers located, 216 grams of Fentanyl, 85 grams of cocaine, 484 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale and over $5,200 in cash. The value of the seized drugs is approximately $78,500.

As a result, 42-year-old, Craig Hunda was charged with the following offences under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited
  • Breach of probation

The individual was held in police custody overnight and attended Bail Court today, June 19, 2024, to answer to the charges.
