In November of 2019, the Greater Sudbury Police Service Integrated Crime Team (I.C.T.) working in collaboration with the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (O.C.E.B.) initiated multiple investigations intending to disrupt drug trafficking operations entering and operating within the City of Greater Sudbury.

In January, a Drug Investigation was initiated in relation to a group of individuals trafficking illegal drugs in our community. On Wednesday, February 26, 2020, members our Tactical Unit and I.C.T. along with the O.P.P. O.C.E.B. conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Regent Street leading to the arrest of three individuals.

As a result of the investigation, 524 grams of Cocaine worth a total value of $52,451.00 were seized in addition to $350.00 in Canadian currency.

The following individuals are facing charges under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act (C.D.S.A.) and the Criminal Code of Canada;

31 year old, Melissa White (Toronto)

  • Trafficking a Scheduled Substance x2
  • Possession for the Purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Driving while Prohibited x4
  • Breach of Probation

35 year old, Jedadiah Drummond (Toronto)

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Breach of Recognizance

Both individuals were held in Police custody and will be attending Bail Court today, Thursday, February 27, 2020 to answer to the charges.

A 33 year old, woman from Greater Sudbury was also charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. She was released on a Promise to Appear with a First Appearance court date of April 8, 2020.

An Arrest Warrant is being requested for a 45 year old, man for Trafficking a Scheduled Substance x2 in relation to this investigation.
