Officers arrest 29-year-old for drug trafficking offences and seize $30,000 worth of illicit drugs

Around 10:40 pm on November 18, 2025, officers were conducting a compliance check on a high-risk individual currently bound by multiple court-ordered release conditions including house arrest when the individual was found to be outside of his residence.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Brady Street and Grey Street and took the individual into custody without incident.

As a result of searching the individual incident to arrest, officers located and seized approximately 252 grams of what is believed to be Fentanyl, 25 grams of what is believed to Cocaine, 21 grams of what is believed to be Crack Cocaine and 10 Oxycodone pills, as well as, $2,500 in cash. The estimated street value of the drugs is $30,000.

Based on the investigation, 29-year-old, Tran Nguyen has been charged with the following offences under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code of Canada;

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x3
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Breach of Release Order

Tran Nguyen was held is custody overnight and attended Bail Court today, November 19, 2025, to answer to the charges. He has since been remanded into custody.
