On November 5, 2025, detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation into individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in our community.

Detectives with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and K9 Unit executed a Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residential unit at 1960 Paris Street.

During the execution of the search warrant, two people were located inside the apartment and arrested for drug offences.

Upon searching the individuals and residence, officers located and seized approximately 24 grams of cocaine, 122 oxycodone pills, and approximately $15,000 in cash. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $3,100.

As a result of the investigation, 25-year-old, Richardo Brown from Southern Ontario and a 16-year-old, youth from Greater Sudbury have been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and the CDSA;

  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Cocaine.
  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Oxycodone.
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Richardo Brown will attend Bail Court today, November 6, 2025, to answer to the charges. He is currently before the courts for prior drug trafficking-related offences.

The youth was released with a future court date to answer to the charges. The youth’s name cannot be released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
