Officers charge three individuals with drug-related offences after traffic stop on Lorne Street

On March 4, 2025, detectives from the Integrated Crime Section with the assistance of Patrol Operations, the Community Response Unit and the Emergency Response Unit conducted a traffic stop on Lorne Street in relation to individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in Greater Sudbury.

As a result of the stop, the driver and two passengers from Greater Sudbury were arrested for drug charges.

Incident to arrest, detectives conducted a search of the individuals and vehicle. Detectives located approximately 237 grams of cocaine, anabolic steroids, a canister of pepper spray and $2,593 in cash. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $25,000.

46-year-old, Jason Laro, 33-year-old, Richard Panamick and 35-year-old, Renee Lambert have been charged with the following offences under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Steroids
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

Jason Laro and Richard Panamick attended bail court on March 5, 2025, to answer to the charges. Renee Lambert was released on an appearance notice with a court date of April 23, 2025.
