Requesting Assistance to Identify Pedestrian - Fatal Collision on Lasalle Blvd & Barrydowne Rd

As a result of the ongoing investigation into the fatal collision at the intersection of Lasalle Boulevard at Barrydowne Road on September 13, 2022, Investigators have determined that a third pedestrian was nearly struck by the vehicle involved in the incident. 

We are requesting assistance to identify and locate the individual seen in the attached image. This individual was walking close to the 31 year old man who was seriously injured, however this individual was not struck by the vehicle and left the scene prior to Police arrival.

As a result of the ongoing investigation into the fatal collision that took the life of a 23 year old young woman and seriously injured a 31 year old man, the driver of the vehicle, a 34 year old man has been charged with Dangerous Operation Causing Death and Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm.

He appeared in Bail Court this morning, September 14, 2022 to answer to the charges.

ORIGINAL

Shortly after 7:35 am this morning, September 13, 2022, Officers were dispatched to a serious collision involving two pedestrians at the intersection of Lasalle Boulevard and Barrydowne Road.

Upon arrival Officers located two pedestrians, a 23 year old woman and a 31 year old man, who had sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Both individuals were transported to hospital by City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services. Unfortunately, the young woman was pronounced deceased at the hospital by medical professionals. The man remains in the hospital with serious injuries.

The 34 year old man driving the vehicle involved in the collision has been charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
