Just before 3:40 a.m. on January 5, 2025, an officer was driving Eastbound on the Kingsway when they observed a vehicle traveling Westbound at a high speed. The radar in the marked police cruiser clocked the vehicle traveling over 150 km/h in a posted 50km/h zone. Over the Labour Day long weekend, officers arrested and charged nine drivers for impaired-related offences and laid numerous charges under both the Highway Traffic Act and the Criminal Code of Canada.
