(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) - Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) welcomes the public to the fourth annual Tree of Hope lighting.
On Monday November 17 2025, at 6:00 pm Beverhouse First Nation, Matachewan First Nation and the Kirkland Lake OPP welcomes the public to the fourth annual tree lighting ceremony at 26 Duncan Avenue, North, Kirkland Lake.
The Tree of Hope was created to honour and bring awareness to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG), 2SLGBTQQIA+ persons and to honour survivors, their families and communities in Canada. The red lights representing the missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, two-spirit or gender diverse person and the blue lights represent the support of police services.
The OPP and local First Nations communities, encourages all community members to come together in support, solidarity, and remembrance.
