JOINT ENFORCEMENT OPERATION ENHANCES ROAD SAFETY IN HALDIMAND

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) - On Sunday, October 19, 2025, members of the Haldimand County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in partnership with officers from the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Hamilton and Niagara regions, conducted a coordinated commercial vehicle inspection initiative aimed at improving road safety.

Throughout the day, officers carried out a total of 20 inspections, resulting in:

  • 19 charges laid (improper brakes, no directional signals, emissions etc.)
  • 12 vehicles taken out of service due to safety concerns
  • 5 licence platees removed

This joint enforcement effort highlights the ongoing commitment of the OPP and its road safety partners to ensure that commercial vehicles operating on Ontario’s roads meet safety standards and regulations.

“Our goal is to keep all road users safe,” said Inspector Andy Fox, Detachment Commander with the Haldimand OPP. “By working together with our enforcement partners, we’re able to identify and remove unsafe vehicles from our roads, preventing potential collisions and saving lives.”

The OPP will continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Transportation and other agencies to promote compliance and enhance public safety across the province.
