Halloween Tips from Lambton OPP

(LAMBTON, ON) - As Halloween approaches, the Lambton Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reminds residents to stay safe while enjoying the spooky festivities. Lambton OPP would like to ensure that all trick-or-treaters heading out on October 31, 2025, has a fun and safe evening.

Trick-or Treaters: Be visible by wearing bright, reflective clothing. Consider carrying a flashlight or glow sticks for increased visibility. Travel in groups and make sure you have a responsible adult or guardian nearby. Utilise sidewalks and crosswalks when available, and if not, keep to the left side of the road facing traffic. Remember to always look both ways before crossing the street. Before consuming any candy, check treats for signs of tampering or possible allergens children may need to avoid.

Motorists: Slow down and stay alert. Remain extra cautious in residential areas and obey the speed limits. This is an exciting evening for children, so watch for those who may suddenly step onto the road. Give extra time for trick-or-treaters to cross the road and allow yourself ample time to get to your destination safely.

Halloween is all about fun, but safety comes first. Let’s make sure the only surprises this Halloween are sweet ones.
